Yasir Sepah, MD

Dr. Sepah is a physician-scientist and innovator in ophthalmology with a passion for improving therapeutic strategies and advancing ophthalmic imaging systems for clinical research. As Co-Founder of the Ocular Imaging Research & Reading Center (OIRRC) and an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford University’s Byers Eye Institute, Dr. Sepah brings a dynamic blend of academic insight, entrepreneurial vision, and hands-on expertise in retinal imaging and clinical development.
Previously, he held academic and leadership roles at the Truhlsen Eye Institute (University of Nebraska Medical Center) and the Wilmer Eye Institute (Johns Hopkins University), where he contributed significantly to retinal research and imaging-based trials. He also served as Associate Director of the Retinal Imaging Research and Reading Center at Johns Hopkins.
A Stanford Biodesign Faculty Fellow, Dr. Sepah is deeply engaged in translational innovation and early-stage development of investigational therapies. His professional affiliations include the Foster Ocular Immunology Society (Executive Committee), the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and ARVO. He serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports and is a peer reviewer for Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science.
