Dr. Mohamed is a board-certified ophthalmologist, retina specialist, and imaging scientist with more than two decades of experience spanning clinical practice, biomedical imaging, and translational research. As Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Director, Dr. Mohamed leads scientific and operational strategy for image-based clinical trials and regulatory imaging endpoints.

He is internationally recognized for his expertise in advanced ophthalmic imaging—including fundus autofluorescence (FAF), OCT, OCTA, fluorescein angiography (FA), and functional testing such as ERG and visual perimetry. His work is distinguished by a focus on the design, validation, and regulatory submission of imaging endpoints in multi-center studies, particularly in retinal degenerative diseases.

Dr. Mohamed completed his medical training at Al-Azhar Faculty of Medicine in Cairo, followed by clinical residencies and fellowships in both Egypt and the United States, including the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He holds a Master of Science in Ophthalmology and brings deep academic insight to imaging analysis, protocol development, and clinical trial oversight.

A prolific researcher and scientific consultant, Dr. Mohamed has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact ophthalmology and vision science journals. He is also highly skilled in imaging analytics, machine learning applications in ophthalmology, and medical data automation using platforms like MATLAB, Python, R, and Power BI.
