Amir Hariri, MD

Senior Science Officer

Dr. Hariri serves as Senior Science Officer, where responsibilities include training image graders in the scientific and clinical nuances of each project, supervising grading performance, and continuously optimizing workflows, systems, and platforms for image analysis and data reporting. In addition to overseeing operations, Dr. Hariri actively contributes as a senior grader, image evaluator, and adjudicator across a wide range of clinical trials and research collaborations. Dr. Hariri also participates in sponsor and client meetings, offering scientific insight to support planning and study execution.

With over a decade of experience in ophthalmic image reading centers and a background in medical retina and ophthalmology, Dr. Hariri brings deep clinical expertise to both research and real-world practice. Prior to joining OIRRC, Dr. Hariri worked with Google as a medical specialist on multiple artificial intelligence initiatives and held long-standing roles at the Doheny Image Reading Center and Doheny Eye Institute in Los Angeles. Dr. Hariri also maintains a retina-focused clinical practice and has served diverse patient populations across both urban and underserved rural settings.

Dr. Hariri completed a clinical and research fellowship in medical retina at the Doheny Eye Centers, University of California, Los Angeles, and holds advanced postgraduate training in ophthalmology and retina from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Dr. Hariri earned an M.D. from the same institution.
